Where there is a will, there is a way!

 

 

I strongly believe that you can do almost anything if you really want to. It’s how I brought my children up. I always told them “if you want to do something, give it a go, you just never know what will happen”. Not trying is to have failed, and I’m a living example of that.

 

People are always telling me I have courage and determination and it is those qualities that helped me over come a series of set backs including becoming homeless with three children, being diagnosed with a rare debilitating medical condition, surviving brain surgery followed by meningitis and pulling myself back from rock bottom after finding myself all alone with no purpose in life and unable to return to employment.

 

It was at that time, the ‘empty nester’ time when your children have all grown up and left home, when under normal circumstances people are settled in a relationship and fill the void by throwing themselves into work and a new found social life. For me though I had no relationship  - having been ill for so many years relationships were not top of the list and when I ‘recovered’ I had lost confidence in myself and my circle of friends had depleted leaving me alone – and I had no job to fill the days with. The thought of a lifetime spent on Incapacity benefit was so depressing and my time was spent looking for things to fill my days with.

 

It was then that I began to think ‘if I cant work for anyone then I shall have to make my own work!’ and started to research a way of earning money working from home. It needed to be something that would allow me to rest and take time off when my health dictated but also something that I could really ‘throw myself into’ and something that would mean I did not have to depend on state benefits for the rest of my life. It would also have to be something that I could set up with minimum expenditure from home, as I had no savings left.

 

When your destiny nudges you into doing something, trust me, you will know it. The idea and the name for Mystic Charms™ came to me when I was asleep, waking up long enough to write the idea down so I would still remember in the morning. From that day on I was consumed with this sudden passion and this passion continues to wake me up in the middle of the night with new ideas even now. Not once has it left me, it is a passion that has helped me overcome all the problems I have faced, its as if I am wearing ‘blinkers’, Mystic Charms™ must succeed!

 

It took four months of planning; approaching suppliers, building a website and working out the logistics of it all. I did not have any experience in any of these areas but did not let that stop me. Once that idea was in my head nothing on this earth was going to stop it!

 

Finally 1st March 2007, Mystic Charms™ was launched onto the World Wide Web. I remember the launch day so well. I uploaded the site, making it active and then went out for the evening. On my return I checked my emails and someone had joined already. That was the most undescribable feeling ever, all those months of preparation and within hours of launching someone had sent me their hard earned money to become a member of Mystic Charms™. Wow, someone believed in my business and in me and it continued with people joining every day. In my projected plans I had expected around 100 members in the first year, by the end of the first month I had 25 members, 52 by the end of the second month and it still keeps growing. I had an over night success on my hands, something you only ever read about and now it was happening to me.

 

Since Mystic Charms™ first launched the business has changed and grown even more than I had anticipated.  It has certainly been a learning curve for me, sometimes a steep learning curve and there have been setbacks that I have managed to overcome.

 

Through Mystic Charms™ I have met many lovely, helpful people. Many have told me they too have an illness or disability that keeps them at home and that when they found Mystic Charms™ on the internet and read my story they were inspired to have a go themselves. I have to admit this is a side I had never envisaged but it is something I really do get great satisfaction from knowing that I have been able to help and inspire other people to have a go at something that will offer them an opportunity to become self reliant once again.

 

Not everyone views the opportunities that Mystic Charms™ now offers as a whole new business, some are happy making a regular income month on month, others enjoy the community spirit we have on the forum and the challenge of having a success at selling online either through their own websites or eBay and Amazon. It is a great opportunity to have a go at online selling; the subject matter is very interesting and has opened up a lot of new avenues for me to pursue. Not one week goes by without another great idea just ‘popping’ into my head, so much so I don’t think I will ever run out of new and interesting ways to make money and my dream of leaving state benefits behind has become a reality.

 

As you can tell, now nearly three years later I am still very passionate about Mystic Charms™, It has not always been easy, but the passion and self-belief I have has driven me to success.

 

In a book I was reading recently, probably taken from my Mystic Charms™ stock as I cannot resist a good title, there was a very old saying “ Sell your cleverness and purchase bewilderment!” and that is how it feels, the bewilderment is the phenomenal success that I have achieved so far and the potential I have still yet to discover.
