Hi All

Just a couple of quick questions,

When do you need to start charging VAT on items?

Has anyone got a sample disclaimer for the goods due to the nature the goods are to be used for?

Thanks

Russell Lilley
Businesses with annual sales below £68,000 (2009-10) don't have to register for (and therefore charge) VAT, but they may choose to do so voluntarily.

Don't forget certain products are VAT except. Such as books etc.

If you wish to use a disclaimer, I am sure a quick google will find one you could use with a few alterations made so you are not duplicating another sites disclaimer.

I sell some really odd things for last 10 years and find this disclaimer covers everything:

"The Law states that we have to offer these products and services as curiosity items for their entertainment value only and can make no claims as to their effectiveness. The information presented here is from folklore, legend and our own experience. All known safety information about products has been given, but we cannot take responsibility for misuse. With regard to safety, none of the items should be taken internally and please keep all items away from children and animals. We shall have no liability or responsibility for any loss, damage or injury, caused or alleged to be caused directly or indirectly by our products or information."

so if a person drops an altar cloth, slips on it, then loses their balance and falls down the stairs then lands on their head poking out an eye with the Tiara I just sold them (that they were wearing), then it's got absolutely nothing to do with me Phew

And for VAT - it also depends what you do as a job, if your currently earning £67,999 then just one mystic charm order tips you into the VAT bracket, but if you are unemployed then it's the whole £67,999 which it would take to push you there and make Julie a very happy woman Roll On Floor Laughing
