Moksha wanted to create this poll so I've done it for her.
Thanks Michael! Thumbs Up Yes
I would say that music is fine on your site as long as the customer has an 'off' button. Those 'midi' tunes on some websites drive me nuts, especially if I am listening to something at the time. I just leave the site
to be honest. I had one on my old site for a while with three songs. They started automatically, but could be switched off with a click, a bit like myspace.
I can't stand sites that play music as soon as they load. I tend to click away off them straight away and go somewhere else - same with any site that 'talks' to you.
yep, hate them as well, never dare have the volume on in case some god-awful noise spews out of them.
Its a No from me too. I cant stand it when you click on a webpage and music starts blasting out, i just usually click off.
I agree, most of the music can be annoying. But I was just wondering if some very soft, new age instrumental music would have the same effect too, I was thinking of adding a short midi file to my home page.
Well, according to your posts, I guess it's not a matter of music genres...

I'll have to abort the idea then Roll On Floor Laughing

Thanks for your replies Thumbs Up Yes
I have to say I dont like the automatic music or sound effects, but for different reasons.
I have hyper reflexes so sudden sounds like that make me jump, stuff goes all over the place (not so fun when drinking a cuppa Sad) and my nerves are unsettled. Great fun when playing kiddies games like snap, Kerplunk etc, makes me a favourite with the kiddies. Happy
But you could consider some music samples on the cd pages.
I will get in touch with the suppliers of the CDs as they have sound samples, I wonder if they would allow you to use them. I can only ask.
That's a good idea Julie, sample sounds would be advertising our cds! Thumbs Up Yes
some of the CD artists have short samples on their websites, shouldn't be a problem using them
